The
name of our ministry comes from the woman in Acts 9:36 whose name was Dorcas, a
woman "full of good works" and known for "the coats and garments
that she made". It is our goal to give practical assistance to our
missionaries and to foster an active interest in missions work among the women
of the church. We meet once a week at LFBC to work on crafts, sewing,
needlework, and other projects for our missionaries. In addition, we supply
items needed for some of our local nursing homes as a gesture of love to the
elderly. Our meetings are a time for fellowship and devotions, as well as
an opportunity to pass on our skills to other women who desire to learn.
In Philippians 4:3, Paul commands the church to "help those
women who labor" in serving others. We invite you to join us in our labor
of love
